A NEW FRANCO-GERMAN COOPERATION FOR SPOLIATION CULTURAL PROPERTY

On May 22, a cooperation agreement strengthened the Franco-German partnership in the field of the search for the source of cultural property stolen due to National Socialism.

This agreement was signed by the representative of the Board of Directors of the Deutsches Zentrum Kulturgutverluste, Rüdiger Hütte, the President of the Commission for the compensation of the victims of spoliations resulting from the anti-Semitic legislation in force during the occupation, Michel Jeannoutot and Head of the Research and Restitution of Cultural Property spoliated between 1933 and 1945 Department of Culture, David Zivie. The Mission coordinates the actions to identify the stolen works and their owners in order to restitute them with the help of the CIVS.

This agreement provides for the exchange of information, regular meetings and the organization of joint events and the creation of a working group.
