IN BAD AROLSEN, A PARTICIPATORY PROJECT DEDICATED TO VICTIMS

Led by a former officer of CIVS, the archives of Bad Arolsen (Hesse) launched a large participatory project aimed at developing the largest database dedicated to the victims of National Socialism.

Since 2016, Bad Arolsen has put almost all of its archives concerning the deportees . The lists come mainly from the archives of the concentration camps. Most online users search by name. However, often the database does not allow to find all the names contained in the archives. Hence the initiative taken to allow anyone to add the name and other information concerning the deportees to this database. This enrichment project takes place directly on the archives site. Just four days after its launch, the #everynamecounts project had 17,000 news inputs.
