Mr Le Ridant, Director of the Commision, will speak at the symposium on looted art in Berlin on 11-12 december 2008

To mark the tenth anniversary of the Washington Principles, the Stiftung Preußischer Kulturbesitz and the Koordinierungsstelle für Kulturgutverluste are hosting an international symposium. In their papers, the speakers will review past developments in the field, examine perspectives and speak about fundamental issues concerning the restitution of cultural artefacts, provenance research and possible “fair and just solutions”.

The Commission for the Compensation of Victims of Spoliations (CIVS) will convene in New York from November 17 to 21, 2008

For the fourth time of its existence, the CIVS, the Commission for the compensation of victims of confiscation pursuant to the anti-Semitic legislation in force during the Occupation, will come to New York.

Exhibition “Who do these paintings belong to?” in France and Israel

The exhibition “Who do these paintings belong to? The French policy on researching provenance, custodianship and restitution of works of art pillaged during the Second World War” will be held from 19 February to 4 June 2008 at the Museum of Israel in Jerusalem, then from 25 June to 26 October 2008 at the Museum of Jewish Art and History in Paris.
