On November 25, 2008, the Commission pour l’Indemnisation des victimes de spoliations (CIVS) formed a partnership with the Benjamin and Vladka Meed Registry of Holocaust Survivors of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum (USHMM) in Washington, DC. On that date the Commission met with Diane Afoumado, lead researcher on the Registry’s team employing the newly acquired materials of the International Tracing Service of the International Red Cross. On this occasion Dr. Afoumado asked the CIVS to contact claimants with an invitation to register with the Registry.
