Recall : THE CONFERENCE OF THE TWENTY YEARS OF THE CIVS WILL BE HELD ON 15 NOVEMBER 2019
On Friday 15 November, the conference “Twenty years of reparation for anti-semitic spoliations during the Occupation: between compensation and restitution” will be held in Paris.(see the program).


A PAINTING RETURNS TO FRANCE
On 23 July 2019, Peter Forner from Berlin handed over a painting by the French painter Nicolas Rousseau to the French State, represented by Ambassador Anne-Marie Descôtes, at the French Embassy. During the Second World War, the painting was transported from France to Berlin, where it remains in the custody of the Forner family to this day.

A NEW FRANCO-GERMAN COOPERATION FOR SPOLIATION CULTURAL PROPERTY
On May 22, a cooperation agreement strengthened the Franco-German partnership in the field of the search for the source of cultural property stolen due to National Socialism.

The CIVS welcomes the partner commissions of its European network
On 5 April, the CIVS receives the representatives of the commissions in Europe who, like it, are working on the research and restitution of the cultural property looted.


Establishment of a Network of European Restitution Committees
The CIVS, which celebrates its 20th anniversary in 2019, will manage the Network during its first year.
