Research portal on actors in the French art market from 1940 to 1945 launches

On December 3, 2021, the Institut national d’histoire de l’art (INHA) presented the Research portal on actors in the French art market from 1940 to 1945.

This important work, carried out under the scientific direction of Ines Rotermund-Reynard (INHA and member of the CIVS) and Elisabeth Furtwängler (Technische Universität Berlin), contains more than 150 biographic articles about those involved in this art market. 70 international authors wrote them, and they are translated into French and German (an English version is scheduled for 2022). These articles are supplemented by approximately 830 documentary records, which concern factual data relating to legal entities or natural persons. They make it possible to see the complex networks through which the works have passed and indicate the precise bibliographic and archival sources. All of this data is freely accessible online.
