The organization for research and restitution:

Two services are responsible for the research and restitution of cultural property spoliated due to National Socialism:

  • a Mission for Research and Restitution of Cultural Property Spoliated between 1933 and 1945 (set up at the Ministry of Culture) conducts research aimed at identifying and returning this cultural property;
  • on the basis of this research, the CIVS proposes reparation measures to the Prime Minister (restitution or, failing that, compensation).
    The organization is described in the flyer available here
