The CIVS welcomes the partner commissions of its European network

On 5 April, the CIVS receives the representatives of the commissions in Europe who, like it, are working on the research and restitution of the cultural property looted.

The Symposium on looted art in Bonn on 20 and 21 February

 The CIVS, the Institut français d’Allemagne and the Käte Hamburger Kolleg “Recht als Kultur” (University of Bonn) organised on 20 and 21 February in Bonn a symposium entitled “Looted Art: Provenance Research and Restitution Practice in Germany and France”.

Establishment of a Network of European Restitution Committees

On 1 January, a network was created linking the commitee in Austria, France, Great Britain, Germany and Netherlands wich are working on the research and restitution of cultural property looted by the Nazis


New attributions for the CIVS

A decree of 1 October modified the assignen of the CIVS, conferring on it new prerogatives for stolen works of art.

The Senate conductes a review of the action of the CIVS

On June 6, Senator Marc Laménie presented on behalf of the Senate Finance Committee an information report on the review of 20 years of acitvity of CIVS.
